Tony Connell, Damilola's case Prosecutor, is working on Madeleine's case

Tony Connell, from the Crown Prosecution Service’s special casework unit, was appointed to advice the “Gold Group”, a special team of detectives from Leicestershire Police which is helping the Portuguese Police in the investigation of Madeleine McCann disappearance. Mr. Connel, assisted by caseworker Les Chasler, managed to get a conviction of the Preddie brothers for the killing of 10-year-old Damilola Taylor. The Director of Public Prosecutions said it was an achievement "against all odds": Six years, three trials and two police inquiries after his murder, a jury convicted Ricky Preddie, 19, and his brother Danny, 18, of killing Damilola.
