Public Prosecutor says “international cooperation” will be needed

“The investigation is not finished, yet, and further police action will take place. After that, we will have to reevaluate the available restrictions to be imposed and what level of international cooperation will be needed”, refers a statement from the head of the Public Prosecutor's Office, Pinto Monteiro, about Madeleine's investigation, issued this afternoon.
The case has been refered today to a judge from a Criminal Court, because there are several police searches and seizures to be done in a short period of time and some of them must be authorized by a judge. The Public Prosecutor's Magistrate from Portimão will be assisted by a senior Public Prosecutor, Mr. Luís Armando Bilro Verão, from the Évora Judicial Area, who is a member of the High Magistrates Council, the self-governing body that oversees all magistrates nominations.
